Welcome to the Pretty Lethal Designs Blog!
Why, hey there. Nice to see you! Thanks for stopping by.
It seems to me that everyone and their mother (+ cousins + children + neighbors) seems to have a online blog. Whether it's for fun, to inspire, to rant, or to support their business, everyone has an opinion or at least something they'd like to share. And despite the popularity, I have gone a long time avoiding the blog trend, as I felt that my work was my communication, whether it was for a client or on my own behalf. I really wanted (and still want) my breadth of work, from my in depth experience within the salon industry to local businesses in Chicago, to represent me. These are my ideas. This is what I've created. This is who I know. This is where I've been.
However the more I interact with businesses, entrepreneurs, consultants and everyone in between, I keep coming across similar trends and similar misunderstandings. Misunderstanding about the extremely important key fundamentals to keep in mind with the design and promotion of a business. Misunderstanding about how to communicate with the designer, programmer, printer, illustrator or copywriter effectively to get exactly what you want and need. As well as misunderstanding about when you should ask for help, when you should be closely involved, and when you should disregard everything you think you know about design and branding.
So, despite the over abundance of blogs nowadays, I decided to toss my own shiny 2 cents into the fountain. I'd like to create this space -so commonly called a blog- to be a place of advice, if not a resource, for business owners or anyone who deals with creatives in their business in hopes that may just add up for someone, somewhere down the line and cause an Ah-Ha! moment in their creative or marketing strategies for their business.
Whether you're just browsing or looking for some creative help, feel free to ask me questions, contact me for advice, or just tell me how much you love me!
Thanks! Best of Success!
